Welcome to "WE, ISRAELITES" website. You are now visiting Joseph's Homepage. Joseph was Jacob's tenth son. At 17 year old, he was known to interpret dream accurately. GEN 49:22-26 He was Jacob's favorite son; however, he was hated by his brothers who saw that their father loved him more than all of them. Joseph's aptitude for interpreting dreams contributed to change his brothers' hate into rage. While Joseph was finally sold to the Ismaelites and brought to Egypte, his brothers claimed his death. Joeph was sold a second time and was even placed in jail. Joseph became famous by interpreting the Pharaon's dreams. Out of his jail's cell, he became governor, in charge of the land of Egypte.
A famine crisis strucked Cannaen that compelled Joseph's brothers to go to Egypte for food. DE 33:13-17 & GEN 45:5 They were recognized by the governor and had received his forgiveness..
Jacob was pleased to learn that Joseph is still alive and had 2 sons. Since Joseph was written out of his will, Jacob decided to replace him by his 2 sons. He even went further by attributing, willingly, in his benediction, birthright to Ephraim. GEN 48:17-20 Thus, from now on they both became tribe's chief. As per Apocalypse 7:6 Manasseh's tribe was also sealed.
