The Most High were discontent in seeing the Israelites defying His laws. He decided to divide them into two distinct groups. Judah and Levy established the southern kingdom to be ruled under Rehoboam and the others established the northern kingdom to oversee under Jeroboam 1KINGS 11:29-32 They were in a constant fight in Jerusalem and mostly they were transgressing the divine laws. 2KINGS 14:12 & 1KINGS 14:29-30 Benjamin who resided in the N-S border was very disappointed to see his two brothers, Levy and Judah, always abandoning the battlefield. Therefore, he decided to join their rank. Consequently, the configuration has changed to 3 southern versus 9 northern tribes.
