Welcome to "We Israelites". This is the Sabbath's Chapiter.
There was evening and there was morning, the creation's seventh day. Gen 2:1-3, day of rest dedicated by the Most High Ex 20:8-11, Ex 35:1-3 "...on the seventh day there shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of solemn rest to The LORD..." We are referring now to the weekly Sabbath. However, we have to highlight the Most High also made mention of many Sabbaths Ex 31:12-18 ".... `Most assuredly you shall keep my Sabbaths: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations ..."
The Sabbath has sunk a lot of ink. There are legions of those who claim that the Sabbath was instituted only for the Israelites, yet, Isaiah 56:1-8 tells us otherwise "... "... the foreigner who has given his allegiance to the Lord must not say, "The Lord will keep me separate from his people for ever;" How can we ignore the divine intervention, the manna from heaven for the Israelites to pass through the desert without difficulty during a period of 40 years without violating the Sabbath order! EX 16:22-36
It is important to emphasize that The Messiah and his followers have sanctified the Sabbath and that Daniel had predicted its transgression in the future days.
LUKE 4:16 & ACT 13:42   16:13   17:2      ORIGIN OF ANTONYM: SATURDAY/SUNDAY
" Those Jews who were forced to accompany his army said, "Do not carry out such a savage and barbarous massacre, but respect the day singled out and made holy by the all-seeing One. The double-dyed villain retorted, "Is there a ruler in the sky who has ordered the sabbath day to be observed?" The Jews declared, "The living Lord himself is ruler in the sky, and he ordered the seventh day to be kept holy"... 2Maccabees 15:2-4
