EXODUS 20:1-4 |
1 God spoke all these words, saying,
2 "I am The LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 You shall have no other gods before me.
4 "You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above,
|
DEUTERONOMY 5:8-9 |
8 "You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, [nor] any likeness [of anything] that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
9 you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, The LORD, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me;
|
LEVITICUS 26;1 |
1 You shall make you no idols, neither shall you rear you up an engraved image,
or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am The LORD your God
|
LEVITICUS 19:1,2,4 |
The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and tell them, You shall be holy; for I The LORD your God am holy.
4 Don`t turn to idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am The LORD your God.

DANIEL 3:16-18 |
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered the king, Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.
17 If it be [so], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

ACTS 17:22,24,29 |
22 Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus, and said, "You men of Athens, I perceive that you are very religious in all things.
24 The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwells not in temples made with hands,...
29 Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and device of man.

JEREMIAH 10:1-5,8,9,11,14,15 |
Hear you the word which The LORD speaks to you, house of Israel:
2 thus says The LORD, "Don`t learn the way of the nations, and don`t be dismayed at the signs of the sky; for the nations are dismayed at them.
3 For the customs of the peoples are vanity; for one cuts a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman with the ax.
4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it not move.
5 They are like a palm-tree, of turned work, and don`t speak: they must be carried, because they can`t go. Don`t be afraid of them; for they can`t do evil,
neither is it in them to do good.
8 But they are together brutish and foolish: the instruction of idols! it is but a stock.
9 There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the artificer and of the hands of the goldsmith;
blue and purple for their clothing; they are all the work of skillful men.
11 Thus shall you say to them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, these shall perish from the earth, and from under the heavens.
14 Every man is become brutish [and is] without knowledge; every goldsmith is put to shame by his engraved image; for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
15 They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
| Psalms 115:4-8 |
4 Their idols are silver and gold, The work of men`s hands.
5 They have mouths, but they don`t speak; They have eyes, but they don`t see;
6 They have ears, but they don`t hear; They have noses, but they don`t smell;
7 They have hands, but they don`t feel; They have feet, but they don`t walk; Neither do they speak through their throat.
8 Those who make them will be like them; Yes, everyone who trusts in them.
